摘要: The issue of whether young children rehearse in auditory memory tasks was investigated across a series three studies comparing individual differences articulation rates and spans. Applying the principles working-memory model, with faster speaking should have superior spans if they engage rehearsal. Two experiments, 4-year-old children, failed to establish any significant association between rate span, although both span procedures were found be highly reliable this age group A third experiment confirmed that, as expected, significantly associated one another adult subjects. results indicate contrary recent theories children’s short-term-memory development, do not subvocal rehearsal during tasks.
