摘要: Abstract Two experiments are reported which examine the effects of word duration on memory span in subjects different ages. The same linear function relating recall to speech rate (assessed by speed repeating words) fits results ranging age from 4 years old adulthood. It is concluded that developmental increases short-term can be explained terms and there no evidence for an increase capacity. Analyses children's suggests with reflect articulation individual words, rather than any change pauses between successive words or changes coarticulation words.
