摘要: All mesothelioma patients identified by a computer search of pathologic diagnoses at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) between 1965 and 1985 were subjects this analysis. A total 180 identified, 136 with pleural 37 peritoneal mesothelioma. There five pericardial two testicular primaries. Of decades included in study, later significantly older, more advanced disease stage, lower performance status than those accrued early study. Factors diagnosis associated prolonged survival for all 0 to 1 status, absence chest pain, age less 50 years, epithelial histology. subset histology, an interval greater 6 months from onset symptoms, treatment chemotherapy pleuropneumonectomy. This last result must be interpreted caution, since was not randomized
