摘要: Animals rarely move in random manner, and instead typically restrict their movements to a particular area known as home range. This chapter reviews the ecology of animal ranges. Topics covered include: methods used characterize range patterns, ecological factors influencing size, shape spatial distribution, evolutionary significance differences behavior, consequences patterns space-use by individuals at population community level.
