摘要: Publisher Summary Steady technological advancements including subminiaturization of telemetry components, smaller and more accurate global positioning systems (GPSs), increasingly available geographic information (GISs) continue to influence the way researchers collect analyze wildlife radio-tracking data. These developments have increased diversity animals that can be studied boosted number accuracy location estimates, within a framework contemporary conservation issues. This chapter conducts literature review using Wildlife Worldwide (WW) database assess specific topics studies radiotelemetry in research. Databases WW search engine include Review Abstracts (formerly Review), Swiss Information Service, Database, BIODOC, Waterfowl Wetlands database. The most critical assumption any study is transmitter has no appreciable effect on animal. One assume marked animal behaves, functions, survives manner similar an unmarked Despite this assumption, impact radio marking often been subjectively evaluated. Generally, large are not affected by marking, whereas animals, particularly birds, impacted more.
