CASE REPORT: Fatal Progressive Hepatic Necrosis Associated with Lamotrigine Treatment: A Case Report and Literature Review

摘要: We present a case of fatal, progressive hepatotoxicity in patient treated with lamotrigine. After presenting rash and fever, she developed elevated liver function tests clinical sequelae hepatic failure. The subacute course her damage is documented serial biopsies. While initial biopsy showed approximately 50% hepatocyte necrosis, post mortem examination performed three weeks later displayed massive necrosis extensive bile duct proliferation. Although was taking other antipsychotics at the time, best parallels reports lamotrigine-associated hepatotoxicity. Here we discuss not only clinicopathologic findings this but also review pertinent literature.
