A Comparative Study of Successful and Disrupted Adoptions

摘要: In order to identify risk factors associated with adoption disruption, a group of 74 disrupted cases is compared legalized adoptions, matched for age. Factors that emerge as significant include the child's history sexual abuse, strong attachment birth mother, and specified behavior problems pre- postplacement. Other variables related adopting family, agency practices, causes disruption are explored.
