摘要: Using a virulent United Kingdom Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis isolate, an ovine experimental model of caseous lymphadenitis was developed, in which the manifestation disease equivalent to naturally observed infection this country. Subsequently, capacity several vaccines protect against challenge determined. Sheep were immunised with recombinant derivative phospholipase D, deriving from UK formalin-killed bacterin same strain, or supplemented D. Following homologous challenge, D and confer statistically significant protection infection, appeared restrict dissemination bacteria beyond inoculation site majority animals. More importantly, combined vaccine succeeded providing absolute whereby eradicated all vaccinates. In addition vaccines, commercially available CLA vaccine, unlicensed for use European Union, assessed its heterologous challenge. The conferred protection, although not restricted as it had been previous vaccines. However, no animals manifested within lungs; thus, potentially important route transmission eliminated. results study provide information pertinent development effective vaccination strategy UK.
