摘要: Abstract Fatty foods have been identified as precipitating factors in symptomatic gastroesophageal reflux (GER). A fat meal has also found to decrease lower esophageal sphincter pressure (LESP) normal subjects. We used the ambulatory 24-h pH monitor assess acid exposure 10 subjects and GER patients following low high meals eaten two body positions. The had nearly identical protein content, volumes, calories. On successive days, ingested one of twice, followed by random assignment 3 h upright recumbent position. Acid for each hour over a 3-h postprandial (PP) period was assessed percent time less than 4.0. Increased occurred normals after (6.2 +/- 2.1%; mean SE) compared with (1.5 0.5%; p 0.05). greater (p 0.05) all study periods, but no differences were between either High induce normals, do not significantly affect abnormal amount patients. In addition, progressive increases hours findings are consistent prior data showing decreased LESP normals.
