摘要: A new 0.5° resolution Mediterranean climatology of the mixed layer depth based on individual profiles temperature and salinity has been constructed. The criterion selected is a threshold value from near-surface at 10 m depth, mainly derived by method applied global (de Boyer Montegut et al., 2004 dBM04). With respect to dBM04, main differences reside in absence spatial interpolation final fields improved resolution. These changes are necessary reproduce layer's behavior. In climatological maps, most relevant features basin surface circulation reproduced, as well areas prone deep water formation clearly identified. Finally, role density definition differing behaviors between oriental occidental regions presented.
