The ins and outs of German unemployment: a transatlantic perspective

摘要: This article decomposes fluctuations in the German unemployment rate into changes inflows (job separation) and outflows finding). For this purpose, we construct examine monthly labour market transition rates from West sample of SOEP (and CPS) for period 1984–2009. We explicitly take account low level Germany. Our shows that Germany, inflow are more important (about 60%) than outflow rate, whereas USA close to 80% due rate.
