摘要: Background and Aim: Teeth are excellent material for anthropological, genetic odontologic investigations in both living dead population. Canines the ideal teeth identification of sex, due to its sexual dimorphism durability oral cavity. This study tests effectiveness canine tooth predicting sex an individual. Materials Methods: involved 60 males females between age group 20-30 years. Mesio-distal (MD) widths maxillary mandibular right left canines inter-canine distance arches were measured clinically on cast all patients. Standard indices derived from these dimensions tested reliability gender determination by comparison with known population under investigation. Results: All measurements showed significant dimorphism. index (CI) was found be more reliable estimation than MD width CI values. Interpretation Conclusion: Use standard is recommended forensic procedures as it have acceptable accuracy. may used a setup when only single or fragment jaw available analysis, consideration relatively low
