摘要: Background Peritonitis has been independently associated with increased morbidity and mortality in peritoneal dialysis patients. However, there are few reports on peritonitis hemodialysis We aim at investigating both the risk profiles prognostic impact of patients. Methods This nation-wide longitudinal study uses claims data obtained from Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database. A total 80,733 incident patients age ≥ 20 years without a history were identified between January 1, 1998 December 31, 2009. Predictors events estimated using Cox proportional hazard models. Time-dependent models used to estimate ratio for attributed exposure. Results Of over 13-year period, was diagnosed 935 (1.16%), yielding an incidence rate 2.91 per 1000 person-years. Female gender, liver cirrhosis polycystic kidney disease three most significant factors non-diabetic diabetic The cumulative survival 38.8% 1 year 10.1% 5 years. time-dependent multivariate analysis showed that had significantly all cause mortality. Additionally, remained higher experienced peritonitis. Conclusions The is female disease. Although rare condition, it poorer outcome
