摘要: Infection is the commonest cause of serious neurologic sequelae neuraxial anesthesia. The incidence depends on operator skill and patient population. Meningitis, a complication dural puncture, usually caused by viridans streptococci. risk factors are puncture during labor, no mask poor aseptic technique, vaginal infection bacteremia. Epidural abscess epidural catheterization, route entry catheter track organism staphylococcus. Principal prolonged technique traumatic insertion. Prevention includes wearing mask, using full sterile avoiding catheterization prescribing antibiotics in high-risk situation.
