摘要: This randomized, investigator-blinded, parallel group endoscopic study evaluated the effects of salsalate and naproxen on gastroduodenal mucosa over a 3-month period in patients with RA. Using therapeutic doses drugs, 8 21 (38%) had endoscopically shown active ulcers (seven patients) or diffuse erosions (one patient), whereas none 18 treated (0%) such lesions (P = .003). Five eight naproxen-treated evidence GI damage were asymptomatic at time verification their lesions. The most significant disadvantage was its higher incidence otologic problems accounting for six nine discontinuations salsalate. However, findings this suggest that receiving are lower risk developing gastropathy than those naproxen. relative benefit-to-risk ratio indicates drug should be considered as alternative NSAID therapy.
