摘要: [1] Optical observations of flickering aurora by a high-speed imaging photometer system were carried out at Syowa Station in 1998. A comparison between observed parameters and theoretical values dispersive Alfven waves indicates that would be produced electron flux modulations electromagnetic ion cyclotron or inertial the auroral acceleration region located over altitude range ∼2000–5000 km. Interference wave patterns two resonance cone can explain temporal spatial structures aurora; columns (or spots) remain almost same location during their lifetime shapes become indistinguishable every half period timing interchange bright dark spots).
