Effects of green certification and labelling on the Spanish fisheries industry

摘要: Abstract Fisheries and aquaculture are incorporating environmental management system (EMS) tools certified sustainable products as part of their strategic priorities. Firms have different ways to certify actions: the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001 blue Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). ISO certifies adoption EMSs; MSC label guarantees use seafood that can be traced back a resource. The economic impact differences between eco-labeling certifications topics great interest management. This paper analyzes compares effect ISO14001 on results Spanish fishing auxiliary industry. We analyzed data from 561 firms deployed multivariate quantitative analysis with retrieved financial accounts fish processing preserving firms, in ratios. Results show get better ratios, although these benefits not due an operational efficiency improvement. Firm size is found moderating relation certification performance. Environmental firms’ performance provides key information management-related decision making.
