摘要: Abstract Sensor data are the basis for performance and health assessment of most complex systems. Careful selection implementation sensors is critical to enable high fidelity system assessment. A model-based procedure that systematically selects an optimal sensor suite overall a designated host described. This procedure, termed Systematic Selection Strategy (S4), was developed at NASA John H. Glenn Research Center in order enhance design phase planning preparations in-space propulsion management systems (HMS). Information capabilities required utilize S4 approach support development robust diagnostics outlined. merit metric quantifies diagnostic risk reduction potential individual suites introduced. The conceptual foundation this presented algorithmic organization optimization process Representative results from analyses boost stage rocket engine previously under as part NASA’s Next Generation Launch Technology (NGLT) program presented.
