摘要: OBJECTIVE The prevalence of colonic angiodysplasia (AD) among healthy asymptomatic people is unknown, and the natural history these lesions has not been clearly defined. purpose our study was to determine review assess AD. METHODS Each authors had previously published his own prospective that involved screening colonoscopy for detection neoplasia in adult men women who never bled. All pathological diagnosed by endoscopy were recorded, but only data pertaining polyps published. We pooled analyzed endoscopic findings (raw data) from those studies assessed reviewing medical charts affected subjects whether bleeding occurred. Nine hundred sixty-four patients evaluated (mean age, 62 yr). > or = 50 yr old (range, 50-79 yr), anemic, Hemoccult negative, asymptomatic, full cecum. RESULTS Eight AD (prevalence, 0.83%). Lesions individuals usually small size, 4.0 mm) most often located right colon (62%). No subject bled, all maintained a stable hemoglobin (mean, 14.6 g%) with mean follow-up 3 yr. CONCLUSIONS conclude 1) uncommon 0.83%), 2) are (< 10 proximal hepatic flexure, 3) benign, risk over 3-yr period low (0% 4) because this risk, treatment incidental (nonbleeding) unnecessary.
