摘要: Vascular malformation (AVM) in the gastrointestinal tract is an uncommon, but not rare, cause of bleeding and iron deficiency anemia, especially aging population. While endoscopic coagulative therapy method choice for controlling bleeding, a substantial number cases require additional therapy. Adjunctive or even primary phamacotherapy may be indicated recurrent bleeding. However, there little evidence-based proof efficacy any agent. The bulk support derived from anecdotal reports case series. present review compares outcome AVM after no intervention, focus on pharmacological agents. Most literature encompasses two common AVMs, angiodysplasia hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia. Similarly, information evaluates therapies, hormones (estrogen progesterone) somatostatin analogue octreotide. Of these, former only evaluated randomized trials, results are conflicting without clear guidelines. latter has been reported as series prospective trials. In addition, other anecdotally used medications discussed.
