摘要: Aqueous extracts of tar from a coal gasification electrostatic precipitator were tested for its toxic and teratogenic potential in vitro on embryos the amphibian Xenopus laevis. The 96-h LC50 EC50 determined to be 0.83% 0.48%, respectively. developmental stage normal-appearing exposed is not affected by increasing concentrations extract. Embryo growth, however, significantly reduced at as low 0.25%. Motility pigmentation effectively relative controls extract 0.5% greater. Exposed are shorter stockier than controls. Malformations head, eyes, viscera, spine common, cartilage formation abnormal. epidermis often hyperplastic, large blisters occur over somatic surface. severity abnormal development directly related concentration toxicant which exposed. Chemical analysis shows that aqueous contain phenols, furans, monoaromatic diaromatic hydrocarbons, mono- diazaarenes and/or amines.
