摘要: This paper addresses the accuracy assessment of land cover products derived from coarse-resolution data. The specific product being evaluated covers landmass Canada and was Satellite pour l'observation de la terre 4 SPOT-4 VEGETATION (VGT) data for 1998. A set representative Landsat frames identified using a selection algorithm. Recent growing season thematic mapper (TM) (or enhanced plus, ETM+) scenes were digitally classified precisely registered to VGT map, confusion matrixes produced. methodological issues concerned with geometric correspondence between two sets, class accuracies, factors affecting these. It found that depending on number classes (35 9) pixel homogeneity, agreement TM classifications ranged 20 70%. These results are consistent earlier assessments similar high-resolution maps. U...
