摘要: Abstract The cornerstone of transportation infrastructure asset management is managing the physical infrastructure, with pavement preservation being one most critical and costly assets. Preserving pavements in an appropriate manner extends their service life, importantly improves motorists’ safety satisfaction while saving public tax dollars. To that end, this paper presents a methodology to estimate performance thresholds are cost-effective safe for users. Using data from Indiana, relationships three criteria, i.e., (accident rates), normalized treatment cost (roughness, rutting, overall rating, surface deflection), road geometry, traffic characteristics climate - investigated estimated. These utilized multi-objective optimization goal-programming scheme identify threshold values trigger treatments. analytically determined found be comparable historical derived experts’ users’ opinions.
