摘要: Amorphous alloys with a composition (at.%) Fe48Cr15Mo14C15B6Y2 were prepared by using either pure elements (alloy B1) or commercial AISI430 steel as base material (B2). When from elements, alloy (B1) could be cast in plate form fixed thickness of 2 mm and variable lengths between 10 20 means copper-mold injection an air atmosphere. In the case B2, grade raw materials, rods diameter are obtained. Ribbons (B1 B2) width 5 about 30 μm arc-melted ingots single roller melt spinner at wheel speed 40 m/s. The thermal structural properties samples measured combination differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), x-ray diffraction electron microscopy. Chemical compositions checked energy dispersive spectroscopy analysis. X-ray microscopy observations confirm that amorphous structure is obtained all samples. A minor fraction crystalline phases (oxides carbides) detected on as-cast surface. Values hardness Young modulus nanoindentation for both alloys. effects adverse casting conditions (such atmosphere, non-conventional copper mold partial replacement materials) glass formation discussed.
