摘要: The role of asphaltenes and resins in stabilizing water-in-crude oil emulsions was investigated by measuring the interfacial composition stability model composed water with mixtures toluene, heptane, asphaltenes, resins, native solids. (mass surface coverage) determined from a combination emulsion area measurements concentration both continuous phases. calculated drop size distributions measured optical microscopy. concentrations were found gravimetric analysis. assessed amount resolved after heating periodic centrifugation emulsions. Asphaltene coverage to increase an asphaltene bulk until limiting achieved. Surprisingly, while always tend stabilize these emulsions, decreased as increased. This change attributed configuration on interface. addition good solvent reduce adsorbed stability. destabilized It appears that act for and, at sufficiently high concentrations, are able replace Naturally occurring solids coprecipitate had little or no effect adsorption but dramatically increased results suggest causes most stable
