摘要: Antibiotic treatment in paediatric rhinosinusitis is still a matter of debate, as the current guidelines have been drafted mainly based on clinical studies published before 2013. Recent modifications epidemiological basis disease might mean that treatments are not completely adequate considering evolving microbiological profile disease. The present paper reviews role systemic antibiotics children with acute (ARS), chronic (CRS), recurrent (RARS), and complicated (CoARS) rhinosinusitis. A total 14 (including 3 prospective non-randomised studies, 8 retrospective randomised studies) 115 initially identified papers were included this review, corresponding to 13,425 patients. Five dealt ARS, four RARS or CRS, five CoARS; remaining patients either ARS CRS. Data about effectiveness antibiotic ARC, CoARS scarce, only three controlled trials last decade, contrasting results. There an urgent need for dedicated test actual benefits deriving from routine use different categories but also compare various therapeutic protocols terms type antibacterial molecules duration treatment.
