摘要: The relation between cigarette smoking (in adolescence and adulthood) the occupancy of conventional adult social roles was investigated in current study. Two alternative predictions for this were examined--"role incompatibility" (which predicts a negative adolescent role occupancy) "pseudomaturity" positive occupancy). Processes selection socialization examined using data from longitudinal study to young adulthood. Both pseudomaturity incompatibility found some support data, two views could be reconciled by considering student as key transition into other statuses. Implications substance use are discussed.
