摘要: Abstract Earlier studies focused on tracking anthropogenic sources of toxic trace metals associated with urban deposited dusts, while research the provenance natural-sourced dust particles in environment is still rare. We studied geochemical signature geogenic street (SDs) Tehran metropolis, Iran, order to infer their and intensity post-deposition weathering. The chemical index alteration (CIA) Ce anomalies suggested that SDs are chemically immature partially weathered. normalized REE pattern positive Eu conjunction SiO2/Al2O3 values implied derivation from intermediate fully mafic igneous rocks. composition LaN/SmN, GdN/YbN LaN/YbN were similar those found a Post-Achaean Australian Shale (PAAS) reference, indicating local rocks Archean greenstone shales north dominant contributor SDs. However, CaO enrichment comparison PAAS dilution mixing windborne carbonates originating Alborz formations, as well intrinsic environment. Abundance patterns major elements REEs scatter plots light rare earth (LREE) heavy (HREE) vs. Eu/Eu* ∑REE (%) confirmed conclusion. These results improved our knowledge about nature have implications for further investigations dust.
