摘要: α[C-11]Methyl-l-tryptophan (AMT) is an analog of tryptophan used with positron emission tomography for the measurement serotonin synthesis in humans. Several attempts have been made to estimate rate from plasma and brain kinetic data AMT using same model as that applied glucose metabolic 2-deoxyglucose. However, although similar 2-deoxyglucose regard irreversible pool tracer uptake, there are important differences between two tracers how can be applied. These include transport at blood-brain barrier presence a large unmetabolized AMT, precluding method providing absolute rate.
