摘要: Light output from bioluminescent microorganisms is a highly sensitive reporter of their metabolic activity and therefore can be used to monitor in real time the effects antimicrobials. Antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) receiving considerable attention for its potentialities as new antimicrobial treatment modality. This combines oxygen, nontoxic photoactive photosensitizer, visible light generate reactive oxygen species (singlet free radicals) that efficiently destroy microorganisms. To this photoinactivation process, faster methods are required instead laborious conventional plating overnight incubation procedures. The bioluminescence method very interesting approach achieve goal. review covers recent developments on use microbial aPDT clinical environmental areas.
