摘要: The aim of this study was first, to investigate whether women starting oral contraceptive (OC) use at a young age and before first birth have an increased risk for breast cancer second, report difficulties encountered in studying long-term health impacts medical technologies. Breast cancers occurring up until 1997 among 37153 Helsinki students born between 1946 1960 were identified by record linkage from the Finnish Cancer Registry; each case, five age-matched random controls picked same student population. Those who had used Student Health Service (HSHS) least three times (150 cases 316 controls) form final subjects. Data on OC background characteristics collected patient records, data live births derived population register. Odds ratios (OR) adjusted number births, smoking sports activity. Compared few non-users, users higher cancer: OR 2.1 (95% confidence interval 1.1–4.2). Among users, no statistically significant differences found regard or birth, but small numbers made intervals wide. Even though we chosen be our group, turned out unsuitable answer research question: most started their old (at 20 later) there very unexposed (almost all birth). Because adoption modern pattern not common students, it is unlikely that impact early extended can studied 2010, when 1960s are 40 50 years old.
