摘要: This article introduces a new theory, the Affective–Reflective Theory (ART) of physical inactivity and exercise. ART aims to explain predict behavior in situations which people either remain a state or initiate action (exercise). It is a dual-process model assumes that exercise-related stimuli trigger automatic associations a resulting affective valuation exercise (type-1 process). The forms basis for reflective evaluation (type-2 process), can follow if self-control resources are available. connected with an impulse, whereas result plans. two processes, constant interaction, direct individual towards away from changing behavior. predicts that, when there affective–reflective discrepancy low, more likely be governed by type-1 process. introductory explains underlying concepts main theoretical roots was developed (field responses exercise, evaluation, evaluation-behavior link, dual-process theorizing). We also summarize empirical tests have been conducted refine theory its present form.
