摘要: The current practising method for the lubrication of leather uses emulsions oils in water (fatliquors) that are prepared using emulsifiers. In particular, fatliquoring process is a sum three processes – surface wetting, oil emulsion spreading and coating on fibre bundles. This suffers from drawbacks account high consumption diffusion discharge wastewater carrying paper reports new approach preparing emulsifier-free ready-to use oil–solvent dispersions, their tuning to obtain required softness leather. solvent, both determine size dispersions. addition non-aqueous solvent tunes as seen an e.g. case castor heptane (Hep) ethyl acetate (EA) mixture at volume ratio 0.9 : 0.1, wherein, 4 nm against 3060 0.1 : 0.9 mixtures. kinematic viscosity (ν) dispersions was comparable with commercial fatliquors. all cases, tension progressively decreases up certain concentration thereafter, remains almost invariant. suggestive formation aggregates solvents. An interesting correlation between performance observed. Such those appropriate diameter (10 < 300 nm) polydispersity index 0.3 had good diffusion, leading softer leathers. It be noted form this range, very large amount emulsifiers/surfactants, which invariably equal or more than weight required. Surface energy leathers significantly altered depending type thus turn influencing dispersion-leather contact hence surface.
