摘要: The aim of the project is to investigate influence fa- miliarity on reading. Three new fonts were created in order examine familiarity that readers could not have seen before. Each contains lowercase letters with miliar and unfamiliar skeleton variations. different variations tested distance threshold time thresh- old methods account for differences visibility. This investigation helped create final typeface designs where roughly similar good performance. typefaces later applied as test material investigation. Some typographers proposed means amount a reader has been exposed design, while other commonalities letterforms. These two hypotheses by measuring reading speed preference partici- pants, they read had either common or uncommon letterforms, then re-measured after an exposure period. results indicate immediate ef- fect reading, but letter features only effect speed. By combining craftsmen’s knowledge designing experimental research, takes step forward towards better understanding how type- faces can process.
