摘要: Abstract Major hypotheses about the processes involved in word recognition are reviewed and then assessed through four experiments. The purpose of first experiment was to examine some basic aspects processing words, pseudowords, nonwords, beyond that, discover differences their that might underlie advantage. second designed assess contribution whole-word letter cluster cues Finally, Experiments III IV were focused on question whether advantage can be wholly explained terms response bias or sophisticated guessing. Taken together, results these experiments most compatible with criterion models. A version model is suggested wherein attributed interfacilitation among single lexical units memory.
