B-site vacancy as the origin of spontaneous normal-to-relaxor ferroelectric transitions in La-modified PbTiO3

摘要: The site vacancy responsible for the manifestation of a spontaneous normal-to-relaxor transition was investigated using La-modified PbTiO3 as model perovskite system. two cation-site defects relevant to present study are A-site (Pb site) and B-site (Ti vacancies. To clearly elucidate type involved in transition, we have developed sintering route that suitably adjusts relative concentration these distinct Using this processing scheme, shown microcompositional inhomogeneity caused by is primarily relaxor behavior from normal ferroelectricity PbTiO3.
