摘要: Abstract The present experiments assessed the effects of changes in serotonergic function on footshock sensitivity, as determined by a quantified version flinch-jump assessment method. In Experiment 1, depletion telencephalic serotonin PCPA injection, medial forebrain bundle lesion, or septal produced increases reactivity which were correlated with reductions levels. all cases, this increased sensitivity was reversed injections d, 1–5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) restored levels to normal. This effect 5-HTP had not previously been demonstrated lesioned animals, and overall animals other stimuli also reduced 5-HTP. 2 tested hippocampal lesion either lesion. Hippocampal while increasing further, significantly attenuated effectiveness restoring results suggest that hippocampus may be an important site action modulating footshock, failure raphe lesions increase due adequately deplete serotonin.
