摘要: Abstract Most of the commonly applied assays used to assess antioxidant properties plant extracts exploit ability some biologically active metabolites participate in oxidation-reduction reactions with metal ions. On other hand, most plants contain different chelated ions whose levels depend on geographic origin, soil, and environmental pollutions. In this study redox-active three sources were measured these botanicals treated ChelexⓇ – an ion exchanger that is noteworthy for its bind transition The original subjected based single electron transfer. results obtained showed statistically significant differences between Chelex-treated suggesting naturally present could interfere methods. • proposed pre-analytical procedure simple does not require special instrumental equipment. Preliminary depletion redox ions, namely iron copper improve reproducibility analytical method allows a more reliable comparison particular botanical species from regions.
