摘要: Abstract Background Several epidemiological studies have evaluated the association between NAD(P)H oxidase p22 phox gene C242T polymorphism and risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), diabetic nephropathy (DN), carotid atherosclerosis with T2DM (CA), but results are inconclusive. This meta-analysis was therefore designed to clarify these controversies. Methods Systematic searches were performed using electronic databases such as MEDLINE, PubMed, EMBASE, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, well through manual searching references identified articles. A total 11 publications eligible for this after running a search on polymorphism, including 7 outcomes T2DM, DN, 3 CA. The pooled odds ratio (OR) 95% confidence interval (CI) calculated fixed effects model (FEM) or random (REM). Publication bias tested by Begg's funnel plot analysis. Sensitivity analysis also performed. Results showed significant in allelic (REM: OR = 1.23, CI = 1.06–1.43), additive (FEM: OR = 1.61, CI = 1.14–2.26), recessive OR = 1.50, CI = 1.10–2.05). observed DN OR = 1.25, CI = 1.06–1.47), CI = 1.08–2.38), dominant OR = 1.26, CI = 1.03–1.54). However, no Similar obtained subgroup based ethnicity. Conclusions suggest that 242T allele might be associated an increased not
