摘要: Caulobacter crescentus is a model organism for the study of asymmetric division and cell type differentiation, as its cycle generates pair daughter cells that differ from one another in their morphology behavior. One these (called stalked) develops structure allows it to attach solid surfaces only capable dividing, while other swarmer) flagellum move liquid media divides after differentiating into stalked type. Although many genes, proteins, molecules involved exhibited by C. have been discovered characterized several decades, remains challenging task understand how properties arise high number interactions between molecular components. This chapter describes modeling approach based on Boolean logic framework provides means integration knowledge emergence division. The text illustrates simulation simple models gives valuable insight dynamic behavior regulatory signaling networks driving phenotypes crescentus. These provide useful tools characterization analysis complex biological networks.
