摘要: This paper begins with a review of the literature on tourism in rural economies, to establish framework for analyzing large-scale products and small town regions. The is followed by development typology attractions regions, including parks, casinos, events, heritage, cultural products. leads into example Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre (CFDC) Manitoba, Canada. Located an agricultural region south-central community Morden located 125 km from provincial capital city, Winnipeg, which had population 811,900 2016. also 35 km north border North Dakota. Thus, while traditionally still dependent upon economic base, has been recently successful diversifying its economy, through manufacturing, services, hospitality, tourism. In part, this success due Manitoba location; however, it result innovative local leadership, prioritization hospitality related CFDC. describes case study as within already economically socially region.
