摘要: We consider information flow via physical transport of inscribed media through space and compare it to electromagnetic radiation. Somewhat counterintuitively for point links, mass is often energetically more efficient by many orders magnitude than broadcast. And perhaps surprising, even in a broadcast setting (depending on the receiver density) still efficient. examine these results terrestrial telecommunications as well communication over great distances with loose delay constraints.
