摘要: Using the Expanded Very Large Array, we have conducted a search for 22.2 GHz H2O megamaser emission in strongly lensed submm galaxy, SMM J16359+6612 at z = 2.517. This object is into three components, and after correction magnification applied to its submm-wavelength flux density, it typical of bulk high-redshift, galaxy population responsible 850 μm extragalactic background (S μm~ 1 mJy). We do not detect any emission, but lensing allows us place an interesting constraint on luminosity megamasers present, 5305 L ☉ assumed linewidth 80 km s–1. Because far-infrared galaxies mainly powered by star formation, very luminous are more commonly associated with quasar activity, could be that blind searches will effective means determining redshifts less-luminous members population.
