摘要: The polysaccharides from Liriopes Radix (PSLR) has been indicated to ameliorate insulin signaling transduction and glucose metabolism. We aimed investigate whether PSLR exerts an ameliorative effect on renal damage in diabetes induced by streptozotocin. Diabetes was with STZ (60 mg/kg) intraperitoneal injection rats. Two weeks after injection, rats the treatment group were orally dosed (200 300 mg/kg/day for 8 weeks. normal chosen as nondiabetic control group. Changes function-related parameters plasma urine analyzed at end of study. Kidneys isolated pathology histology, immunohistochemistry, Western blot analyses. Diabetic exhibited dysfunction, evidenced reduced creatinine clearance, blood urea nitrogen proteinuria, along marked elevation ratio kidney weight body weight. All these abnormalities significantly reversed PSLR. histological examinations revealed amelioration diabetes-induced glomerular pathological changes following less protein expressions nephrin podocin diabetic increased accumulation ED-1-expressing macrophages tissue almost completely abolished T cells infiltration attenuated expression proinflammatory cytokines. treatments not only degradation inhibitory kappa B kinase, but also downregulated nuclear factor (NF-κB) p38 mitogen-activated kinase (MAPK) kidney. results suggest that protective effects occur through improved glycemic structural changes, which are involved inhibition NF-κB p-38 MAPK mediated inflammation.
