摘要: Lichens are a form of symbiont between fungus and an alga or cyanobacterium, which contains wide variety organic compounds with certain secondary metabolite classes typical these organisms. The Ramalina genus has approximately 246 species distributed around the World, in this review 118 published chemical biological activity studies extracts isolated were cited. From 153 mentioned compounds, only 27 passed tested for activity, being usnic acid most studied compound one showing best results almost all vitro tests performed, although other also presented excellent as antimicrobial, antitumor anti-inflammatory agents, among others. Extracts several significant performed tests, demonstrating potential that organisms have, particular, gender Ramalina, to produce bioactive molecules can be used model production pharmaceuticals.
