摘要: Tumor cells and structure both evolve due to heritable variation of cell behaviors selection over periods weeks years (somatic evolution). Micro-environmental factors exert pressures on tumor-cell behaviors, which influence the rate direction evolution specific especially development aggression resistance chemotherapies. In this paper, we present, step-by-step, a multi-cell, virtual-tissue model tumor somatic evolution, simulated using open-source CompuCell3D modeling environment. Our includes essential microenvironmental components their interactions. provides platform for exploring leading aggression, showing that emergent stratification into regions with different survival rates drives less cohesive lower levels cadherins higher integrins. Such reduced cohesivity is key hallmark in progression many types solid tumors.
