摘要: A rise in the incidence of meningococcal disease has occurred Spain recent years, especially some regions north-west country. Most cases have been caused by meningococci characterised as Neisseria meningitidis C:2b:P1.2,5. total 107 C:2b:P1.2,5 isolates (60 from patients and 47 carriers) 12 showing related antigenic combinations (C:2b:NST, C:2b:P1.2, C:2b:P1.5, C:NT:P1.2,5) was analysed pulsed-field gel electrophoresis to determine genetic variability epidemic strains. Endonucleases BglII NheI were used cut chromosomal DNA. When used, most showed same pulsotype regardless whether they clinical or carriers. Isolates principal profile after digestion with endonuclease NheI. Four pulsotypes identified, which two found only one isolate each. The major profiles (1 2) differential distribution among carrier isolates; 1 frequent isolates. However, proportions 2 similar This could indicate that there are variants strain differing pathogenicity.
