摘要: With the use of multiple blood sampling, prevalence hyperprolactinemia in 150 consecutive patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCO) was found to be 17%. To further compare these two groups PCO patients, pituitary responses gonadotropin-releasing hormone and thyrotropin-releasing adrenal dexamethasone suppression adrenocorticotropic stimulation were evaluated 40 normoprolactinemic 10 hyperprolactinemic patients. Adrenal pertubation tests normal both Besides higher levels prolactin, also had thyrotropin testosterone, a luteinizing hormone/follicle-stimulating ratio, lower follicle-stimulating hormone, hormone. Our data are consistent hypothesis that some cases, pathogenesis may due central deficiency dopaminergic activity at basal hypothalamus. The observed significant number reflect greater hypothalamic dopamine, as manifested by elevations prolactin levels.
