摘要: Behavioral genetic analyses can be a powerful tool in identifying the mechanisms underlying specific pathophysiological states. The most recent approaches this regard have involved transgenic or knockout mouse models. However, as many pathologies involve multiple gene effects, an interaction between genes and environment, alternative approach to assessing pathophysiology involves use of rat/mouse lines selectively bred exhibit high low levels given phenotype. These then used identify neuroanatomical, physiological and/or chemical correlates pathology.
