摘要: It has been demonstrated that polymorphisms within inflammation-related genes are associated with risk of gastric carcinoma in Helicobacter pylori-infected individuals. Recently, several studies have reported conflicting results regarding the association between interleukin (IL)8-251*T/*A polymorphism and carcinoma. In this study, we performed a case-control analysis, including 693 controls, 187 chronic gastritis cases 333 cases, to determine IL8-251 northern Portugal population. We found no significant increased or carcinoma, agreement other populations white origin. The retrospective analysis published data shows tends be reproducible Asian estimated effect under was not significantly different subgroups defined by histologic type anatomic site tumours, sex age participants. conclusion our indicate although might relevant host susceptibility factor for development, is likely ethnic-specific.
